Dr.Akmal has spent over 10,000 hours in a surgical residency at the University of Pittsburgh over the course of 3 years after completing Dental School.
There, he fine tuned his skill set, and learned the Art and Science of Surgery. Since completing his residency, Dr.Akmal has been practicing in the DMV for the last 8 years, further honing his skill set.
Dr.Akmal has placed 1,000’s of implants, and completed 1000’s of surgeries since completing his residency. Additionally, as a Periodontist, he often has to treat complications that occur from surgeries done by other doctors, or aid other doctors in treatment planning more complex patients.
As a specialist, Dr.Akmal has committed to maintaining the highest level of learning and attends many surgical conferences every year to make sure he stays up to date with the latest research, and techniques.
